Our group dog hikes are designed to optimize for your dog's individual needs
- Fewer dogs per handler to ensure individualized attention, slow dog-dog introductions, and safety.
- Longer leashes to reduce tension between dogs and ensure room to sniff, explore, and go your own pace.
- Greater focus on meeting your dog's needs. Not just exercise, but sniffing, learning, and positive socialization.
- Hikes are lead by a trainer to maintain and reinforce polite hiking behaviors and accommodate fearful or reactive dogs.
- Week to week consistency. We are a husband & wife team with amazing & loyal clients, not a rotating cast of characters.
Please note that new students start with at least 4 weeks of Training Hikes to begin learning trail skills like slow dog intros, passing etiquitte, prey neutrality, and loose leash hiking.

You only have so much time to enjoy the outdoors with your pup, so let us help you skip to the good part!
Training hikes are done at the same time and location as the pack hiking group, but with enough distance to support reactive pups. Your pup gets 1:1 training to learn hiking skills like:
- Manners for passing dogs, hikers, & bikers. Especially important for reactive, fearful or anxious dogs to practice.
- Recall & off-leash fundamentals to get you ready for that next camping trip or off-leash trail you've been eyeing!
- Neutrality around wildlife using cutting edge predation substitution training protocols.
- Reduce leash pulling, especially on the downhill, to ensure fun and safety for all species on your next hike.
- Using only force free and ethical training practices. We will never use aversive equipment or punishment.
Depending on your pup's learning pace, you can expect noticable progress on skills over 4 to 10 hikes plus a private lesson to transfer skills to you.
